Full Monty’s Catch of the Day (12/31/06) – The Good, The Bad & The Queen

Thursday, January 4th, 2007

I wrote a blog about this band which is being brought together by Blur frontman Damon Albarn. The band consists of members from Gorillaz, The Verve, and The Clash. My choice song is Herculean which is a nice downbeat track that has a hint The Verve mixed with the smooth electronics from the Gorillaz second album, Demon Days. Danger Doom, who worked on Demon Days, will be producing the band’s forthcoming record. Check out my blog below on The Good, The Bad, and The Queen for more information. So I hope you enjoy Herculean for my catch of the day.

SXSW ‘07 Rumors

Thursday, January 4th, 2007

It is almost that time of year – the time when the chill in the air starts to go away, college boys and girls leave the campus to blow off steam, and when the hotels in Austin start to book up completely. I am talking about that time of year when Austin hosts one of the largest music and movie conference of the year. That, of course, is SXSW. Many rumors have been circulating about what know acts will be performing. I am excited to report that Chillville artist Lily Allen, Ghostland Observatory, and Morrissey might be performing in this years event. Other artist such as Interpol, Bloc Party, Ozomatli, and The Stooges are also slated to play. Keep in mind that these are not set in stone. We will know more when the official list of bands comes out in the near future.
