In a coming post, I am going to tell you why radio is so much better today than it was back it what some dinosaurs call “the good old days.” (And while I don’t mean to get all mesozoiac on your ass, trust me…I’ve been at it for a minute). One of the key reasons is that we can laterally integrate every stripe of web craziness into what we do. Key among them: MySpace.
I regularly troll the pages of our friends to see what they are listening to (I’m a huge Minus The Bear fan rightaboutnow) and what they are into. What what I’m finding a lot of our listeners are into is…. (drum roll please) poker. Me too (in fact my little consulting business has taken me to Atlantic City and Reno, NV in the last 3 weeks alone, and in both instances I pocketed a little coin from time spent immersed in Hold ‘Em).
So I’ve decided to start up a rotating Chillville House Game. If you wanna get involved…here’s what you need to do: 1) make sure you are one of our friends on chillville’s myspace page right away; and 2) shoot me an email expressing your interest and what night you’d do it.
Here’s the fine print and mumbo jumbo: We’re not playing for money, just fun. There are no prizes at stake. You have to be 21 and show me your ID, in the event adult bevvies are present. This is in no way sanctioned or authorized by 101-X or Emmis Communications whatsoever in any fashion. Guess that’s about it.
