Desperately Seeking Assistant Producer

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

OK, we’re growing the Chillville family by one.  We need someone who is willing to help with reviewing music, going to shows, doing research.  Pretty simple really.  This is an unpaid position, but the percs are pretty sweet.  Probably 5-8 hours a week.  Need really STRONG writing skills.  Need your own digital camera.   You do not have to be available on Sunday mornings (in fact, it’s not an on-air position at all, per se, though there is the possibility it could evolve into a lot more).  We can set it up where you get credit if you are needing that through your school.

Send an email and resume to monty@chillville.com.

November 18th Catch of the Day – Calvin Harris

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

The 23 year old from the UK is one of the hottest items overseas. Not only does he sing and program his music, but he also writes, produces, and overseas everything about his art. Harris has created music that magically fuses electronic and pop flawlessly. My catch today is “Neon Rocks”. Enjoy!

November 11th Catch of the Day – Shock of Pleasure

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

It looks like the city of Dallas has given us a gem of a band called Shock of Pleasure. This is down-tempo electronics at it’s finest with a mixture of synthetic beats, live instruments, and beautiful vocals. Kelly Christian’s sound come reminds me a little of Tracey Thorn or even Natalie Merchant. As you can see by her photo below, she is also very pleasant to the eye. Today’s catch is “This Is a Test”. Enjoy!
