December 23rd Catch of the Day – The Chromatics

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

Today’s catch comes from a band that I happened to stumble upon late one night. The thing that caught my attention is their simple approach to their beats and all around electronic sound. Today’s catch is the cover of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill”. The Chromatics do the song justice since they have that ’80’s vibe going for them. Enjoy!

December 16th Catch of the Day – Apparat

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Apparat is the German electronic band fronted by the talented Sascha Ring. The nice thing about this band is that they fuse a groovy beat with mellow electronic strings. Today’s catch is “Hailin from the Edge”. Enjoy!

Famecast Electronica Competition

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

You may remember me talking about being a commentator for the finals of the FameCast competition at Stubb’s last week.  That webcast aired last night and is archived for your viewing enjoyment.  The Tulsa band Recorder won the judge’s award and the popular vote.  Congrats.
