So earlier this year I talked about the issue involving the soundtrack to Sunshine (the Danny Boyle film that was released last year). If you’ve seen the movie, then maybe you were one of many that really enjoyed the ambient score that was composed by both Jon Murphy and Underworld. The problem was that both Murphy and Underworld could not come to an agreement on who should get credited for certain tracks due to a fusion of work on the majority of the cd. Did Murphy do most of the work, or did Underworld do it? This was the conundrum that ultimately delayed the release to the soundtrack for over a year. Well, it has finally been resolved! Both Murphy and Underworld agreed on credits by listing the artist as either Jon Murphy, Underworld, Jon Murphy & Underworld, or Underworld & Jon Murphy. Hmmmm. To be honest, I don’t think most of us care how the artist is credited as long as the cd is released. So as of Nov. 25th, you can now download one of the finest scores that came out last year (or this year?).One of the best tracks is Underworld’s “Capa Meets the Sun (To Heal)”, which contains quotes from the film.
