Live from ACL – Day 2

We’re back at Zilker, sunburned and sweaty, and just caught Man Man! Last time they were in town, it was the end of April at Emo’s, and the weather was much more cooperative. Despite the sweltering heat, though, they performed with their usual intensity, and had a huge pit of kids screaming the lyrics back at them.

We made an early day of it; The Black and White Years started us off at noon, and then we caught the Old 97’s, Fleet Foxes, and Scotland’s the Fratellis. It’s probably time for an ice-cold sweet tea, a bit of time in front of the mr. mister, and then MGMT. We’ll round out a packed day with Sam Beam’s dulcet tones (Iron and Wine), a bit of Alison Krauss, and then, of course, Beck Hansen.

Afterparties of note tonight: Okkervil River/Man Man/Crooked Fingers at Emo’s, Band of Horses at the Parish, and the Black and White Years at a Rock the Vote shindig on the west side. For more official parties, check out the ACL website for the full list.

Again, stay safe, kids! Catch y’all tomorrow.
